I use objects and text to research and develop ideas. My practice looks at the relationship between the historic or already existing, and the contemporary or new and it has both a personal narrative and a broader reference to early modernism and the built environment. I am interested in the relationship between form, function, art and craft and in the fragmentary and transient nature of materials.

    Artist Statement

I use objects and text to research and develop ideas. My practice looks at the relationship between the historic or already existing, and the contemporary or new and it has both a personal narrative and a broader reference to early modernism and the built environment. I am interested in the relationship between form, function, art and craft and in the fragmentary and transient nature of materials. I like to work with neglected or once-functioning objects and through a transformational process, which often involves combining them with something new or custom-made, shift the perception of their meaning or value.
