White Hole, 2019 by Claire McDermott

Claire McDermott

Project: Reactionary | Subject: Environmental

This installation devoured space. It captured hot air as a happening.
The weather balloon was blown up by hairdryer capturing the used energy. This hypothesis allows us to grasp this phenomenon as a visual object and led to the realisation that the round white circle had become a symbol of spent energy in my mind.

Farthest Reach - Mycilium, 2021 by Ewan Robertson

Ewan Robertson

Farthest Reach comprises of 2 sited sculptures. A work grown solely from Mycelium, a living, changing and trasient material. The second work is made chiefly of Glass, another earth-derived material with more permanence and longevity. The Mycelium sculpture is installed in a remote area of Glentress forest and will naturally return to the earth over a few short months. The Glass sculptures are shown as part of a number of pop-up installations over the summer of 2021, the first on Yellowcraigs beach in early July.

The mycelium form was grown into a genrative designed PLA printed mould and installed dirctly in woodland. The initial installation featured a performed ritual for participants.

Farthest Reach is the 3rd of 3 collaborative artwork by Asteria Creative.

best intentions, 2021 by barbara beyer

Barbara Beyer

Part of the Waveney and Blyth Annual Sculpture Trail "Sculpture in the Valley" "Best Intentions" is a site specific work that responds to the common practise of strapping young trees between wooden stalks to encourage straight growth. Using the same procedure I strapped clay cylinders between wooden supports when they are still soft resulting in deformation and distortion. The cylinders were fired and placed in the newly planted Orchard at Potton Hall, Suffolk.
